On 1 March in Moscow started the Tea Masters Cup Russia. Competitions among tea masters are held in different countries around the world and represent the national rounds of the world championship Tea Masters Cup (TMC), one of the most powerful tools of modern development of the tea market, aimed at creating a high tea culture, the development of professionalism and experience exchange between specialists. Participation in TMC allows the tea masters to expand their knowledge in the field of tea, contribute to the understanding of the value of its high-quality varieties to a consumer audience, increase the culture of service in the places where tea is consumed, as well as to promote tea culture. The Russian Championship has been held for the third time. The interest in it is growing every year, more tea masters are wishing to participate and the winners of the national round are going to the World Championship.
In 2016, the general sponsor of the Tea Masters Cup Russia became the Sri Lanka Tea Board*, one of the largest high-quality tea exporting countries in the world. Its decision to support the Championship has once again confirmed the commitment to the development of quality tea market.
