You can avoid the queues at World of GOTHENBURG, 28 APRIL 2015 – The countdown is on to SCAE’s Nordic World of Coffee, sponsored by BWT water+more, which will take place at the Swedish Exhibition & Congress Centre, Gothenburg, during Sweden’s famous Midsummer Week. In celebration of its 15th year hosting Europe’s greatest coffee event, SCAE has planned a show to remember, including a dazzling showcase of innovations, debates, cuppings and competitions. Here are five top features not to miss at this year’s event:

1.      Innovation Arena
World of Coffee’s 3,000sq.m. exhibition will include 150 of the world’s most innovative and trusted coffee, equipment and service providers. (View the full list of exhibitors at www.worldofcoffee-nordic.com.)

Keep an eye out for the New Product of the Show Awards, to be announced on Tuesday, 16 June, which will highlight the most exciting and innovative new products at the event.

2.      Origins Hub
SCAE is welcoming some of the most talented coffee farmers on the planet to World of Coffee this year for Europe’s largest ever gathering of origins. The Origins Hub will be headlined by Indonesian Specialty Coffee, World of Coffee’s Official Coffee Producer Sponsor, and will include representatives from ADE Nicaragua, African Fine Coffees Association, Anacafé, Brazil Specialty Coffee Association, Burundi, Café De Costa Rica, Café Honduras, Colombia, CSC (Consejo Salvadoreño Del Café), Guatemala, India, Kahawa Fair Trade Coffee, Tanzania, Panama, Peru, PRONicaragua, Puerto Rico, Mexico and more.

3.      World Championships
No less than five new World Champions will be crowned at World of Coffee when World Coffee Events stages five exciting World Championships at the show. The Roasting, Brewers Cup, Coffee in Good Spirits, Latte Art and Cup Tasters competitions will provide three full days of non-stop entertainment.

4.      Re:co Symposium
Re:co, standing for Regarding Coffee, will debut at World of Coffee (Quality 11 Hotel, 15-16 June). The inaugural speciality coffee symposium, organised by World Coffee Events, will gather the greatest minds and stakeholders in coffee to debate the big issues impacting the industry.

5.      Education Zone
Authorised SCAE Trainers (ASTs), coffee experts and thought leaders will inspire learning and debate in the Coffee Information Exchange, providing visitors with a wealth of knowledge to bring home to their businesses. New this year is a series of food and coffee workshops from SCAE and Nespresso that will bring some of Europe’s top chefs on coffee’s sensory journey, and introduce speciality coffee to key influencers in hospitality.

Along with an exciting exhibition, competitions, training, education and debate, SCAE will also showcase a “Taste of West Sweden” featuring the best local food and drink producers. Other key features planned for the event include a busy programme of exclusive cuppings, the prestigious SCAE Excellence Awards which honour leading ambassadors in the industry, the SCAE Photography Awards which feature breathtaking photography from coffee professionals around the world and, of course, a packed social agenda, filled with fun fringe events including the SCAE Party, Midsummer Party and a local street food festival.

World of Coffee is Europe’s greatest coffee gathering and one of the world’s pre-eminent coffee events, bringing thousands of coffee professionals and enthusiasts together over three days for a celebration of coffee. The event moves to a different European city each year. In 2016, it will take place on 22-25 June in Dublin, Ireland, where it will host the World Barista Championship.

World of Coffee is owned and organised by the Speciality Coffee Association of Europe (SCAE), the membership association for the speciality coffee industry that represents the interests of 3,000 members in 90 countries around the world. With 30 National Chapters actively engaged in promoting coffee excellence at ground level, SCAE represents the heart of the coffee community.
