The best baristas were announced at Russian Barista Days

From 27 February to 1 March 2015 in Moscow, KVC Sokolniki during Russian Barista Days were held major competitions among the best barista in Russia. The event was attended by over two thousand people from more than 30 cities in Russia and abroad.
Within three days in  Sokolniki were held five qualifying rounds of World Championships: Barista Championship, Cup Tasters, Latte Art, Coffee In Good Spirits and Brewers Cup. In addition, the first time in Russia was held Aeropress Championship .
To evaluate the  baristas’ performanceswere were invited international certified judges of World Barista Championship (WBC) — Teija Marika Lublinkhof, Lukasz Jura, Pete Licata, and the chief judge -the Russian certified international judge WCE — Alexander Tsybaeva.
The opportunity to represent Russia on the world stage, got only the best barista, namely: Barista Championship (Classic) — Alexei Kugaenko ( Coffee Omni ); Championship Kaptesting — Vladimir Nenashevo (Liberica); Championship Latte Art — Alexei Ivanov ( Coffeemania ); Championship Coffee in Good Spirits — Cyril Sharapova ( Coffee Fest ); Championship Brewers Cap: Ruslan Shulga ( Coffee Omni ). Thus, the Champion of Russia Alexei Kugaenko go to the World Barista Championship in Seattle (USA), and the winners of the other championships will represent our country in Gothenburg (Sweden). The youngest winner in the Russian coffee competition — Championship Aeropress was Roman Kantola, chief barista from City Coffee.
During Russian Barista Days were also organized an exhibition-fair, organized trainings and seminars, cupping and master classes for professionals of the coffee business and to the public.
Organizer of the Russian Barista Days is the magazine Coffee & Tea in Russia with the support of SCAE Russian Chapter (Specialty Coffee Association of Europe).
