The “Great Tea Road” is an international project launched by Moscow and Buryatia in the 1990s. Involving Russia, China and Mongolia, it is conceived as a new tourist product with a focus on the historical and cultural heritage of the “Great Tea Road” and will target China, South Korea and Japan. A part of the future tourist route will go through the Novosibirsk Oblast.
